This is a women's rinzu (figured satin) silk haori kimono jacket which has a soft and smooth touch in a good quality of silk with gorgeous rose madder tachibana (mandarin orange) motif pattern all over in an elegant subtle smoky greyish pink.
It has fantastic shibori tie-dyed design in those mandarin orange and beautiful jacquard design which is kikyo (Chinese bellflower) in circle, tachibana (mandarin orange) in circle, sasa no ha (bamboo leaf) in circle and Japanese traditional pattern called sayagata (gossamer-figured pattern).
The haori jacket also has fabulous floral design in the lining such as botan (peony, tsubaki (camellia) and ume (plum) that I may suggest to be able to wear as reversible.
The kimono has been carefully patches in a number of places. I guess that the original owner of the kimono loved it very much. I personally love the historical story of those items. It has certain wear and other flaws. Please check the detail photos and the 'Extra Images'.
