This is a fantastic antique cotton han-jyuban (half length underkimono). The fabrics are hand spun and woven which have such a soft and warm feel. The indigo sekka shibori 雪花絞り tie-dyed work is just breathtaking. There are charming katazome ordered abstract design in the sleeves. The han-jyuban is well worn. It is considered to be around mid Meiji era (c.late 1800s). It is such a wonderful attractive antique indigo piece. I really love it.
The jacket has two side slits at the bottom.
It would be stunning to use as a jacket and also display as a wonderful piece of art for a room.
It has certain wear and flaws.
However it is such a amazing piece! I guess the original owner of the jacket loved it very much. Enjoy real antique folk textile taste of Japan! Please check the detailed photos.
