This is a men's vintage black silk haori jacket comes with a fantastic hand painted picture in the lining of a woman or possibly a man who is relaxing and holding a dancing sensu 扇子 fan in her hand and the other arm is draped over the arm rest. There is a fantastic byobu (folding screen) behind her which shows pictures of procession of a Japanese daimyou (feudal lord), thatched houses, mountain, matsubayashi (pine trees) and yanagi (willow tree) and traditional water taxi boats. Also an andon (oil lamp stand with a wood frame and paper shade) is by her.
The outside textile is habutae (smooth, glossy silk cloth with a fine weave) silk, and it has a soft and smooth touch. There are five mons (family crests). The symbol of the mon is maru no uchi ni futatsubiki (two bars in a circle). It is medium weight. Hakone is a very smart and sophisticated vintage piece.
These man's habutae haori jackets come without straps. You can wear without straps and keep the front open or contact me if you'd like a pair. Navy blue and brown colours straps are available at the moment.
