This antique women’s black silk kimono has an exquisite yellow and white tsubaki (camellia) floral pattern and Karakusa (arabesque pattern) with pretty reddish pink and white little flowers. It has classic geometric pattern and tachibana (mandarin orange) floral jacquard design. The textile is kinsha (fine crepe) silk which is soft and smooth touch in good quality.
It has a bachi-eri (folded lapel). The lining of the top main part is in red silk and the bottom part is in ivory chirimen (crepe) silk. The kimono would be stunning to use as a dress and also display as a fabulous piece of art for a room. Time After Time is a really attractive and gorgeous special antique piece.
The model is about 157cm (5’2”).
This kimono is quite long. Please check the measurement. You may need to have a bit of tuck at your waist with this length of kimono unless you are very tall. You can adjust the length by using a koshihimo (a cord tied around the waist of a womans kimono to hold it in place). Koshihimo is available for £4. Please ask for more details.
It has certain wear and some marks including a mark in the lining, but as a whole it is in a very good condition for the age. Please check detail photos and 'Extra Images'.
