This is a charming vintage cotton han-jyuban (half length underkimono) with silk sleeves. The fabric of the main part is with white little flower motif and weave pattern in navy blue cotton. The sleeves has fantastic abstract shibori tie dyed pattern in charcoal grey silk. It has a collar with flower motif embroidery. The han-jyuban is well worn. It is considered to be c.1930s - 1950s.The jacket has two about 8.5cm side slits at the bottom.
It would be stunning to use as a jacket and also display as a wonderful piece of art for a room.
It has certain wear and flaws including fray, tiny hole and marks. However it is such a great piece. I guess the original owner of the jacket loved it very much. Enjoy real vintage folk textile taste of Japan! Please check the detailed photos.
