This ladies tsumugi silk haori jacket has a beautiful and elegant ume (plum) and sakura (cherry blossom) flower design in a lovely salmon pink. Tsumugi (pongee) is a less expensive silk hand spun from textured floss, which was derived from leftover silk cocoons. The design of the lining is also original and pretty.
Originally the sleeves are longer but the previous owner preferred some tucked in so there is room to let long 17.5cm (7") if you'd like.
The jacket is rather long length for a haori which is typical of Taisho era (early 1900s) style. Spring Salute is a really charming piece. Definitely one of my most favorite pieces.
It has certain wear but as a whole, it is in good condition. Please check the detail photos and the 'Extra Images'.
