This is a women's silk kimono which has a soft and smooth touch in a good quality of silk with a fantastic hand painted design of botan (peony), kiku (chrysanthemum), ume (plum) and tachibana (mandarin orange) in an elegant coral pink.
Some parts such as centre of the flowers are embroidered and some parts are embroidered with gold-couching. The kimono has beautiful classic floral jacquard pattern all over. The lapel is hiro-eri (wide lapel).
The top lining is red silk, typical of the Taisho Era and the bottom is coral pink silk. All my loving is a gorgeous and attractive antique piece.
The model is about 157cm (5’2”).
This kimono is quite long. Please check the measurement. You may need to have a bit of tuck at your waist with this length of kimono unless you are very tall. You can adjust the length by using a koshihimo (a cord tied around the waist of a womans kimono to hold it in place). Koshihimo is available for £4. Please ask for more details.
It has certain wear and some flaws. Please check detail photos and 'Extra Images'.
Note: This kimono does not come with a belt. If you would like one, please check my casual obi collection on casual-obi-belt.html. Prices start from £8 or £10 for a belt.
