This is a women's chirimen (crepe) silk jyuban (underkimono) which has a soft and smooth touch in good quality silk with glorious pinky creamy white, oriental red and light blue floral pattern in glamorous deep blue. The flowers are botan (peony), kiku (chrysanthemum) and momiji (maple).
The lining is in ivory silk. The kimono has such a fabulous retro feel from early 1900. This is definitely one of my favourite pieces.
Shortened Sleeves. The previous owner has taken in the sleeves about 11.5cm (4 1/2”). They can be lengthened if desired.
The model is about 157cm (5’2”).
It would be stunning to use as a dress and also display as a wonderful piece of art for a room. A Fine Romance is a fantastic special antique piece.
It has some flaws and certain wear, but as a whole is in a good condition for the age. Please check the detail photos and 'Extra Images'.
